Emei Mountain 2-Day Itinerary Guide: Routes, Costs, Tips, and Essential Travel Advice
Planning an Emei Mountain 2-day itinerary is one of the best ways to enjoy sacred temples, cool mountain weather, golden Buddha statues, and breathtaking cloud-sea views. Whether you’re searching for Emei Shan travel tips, the best way to reach the Golden Summit, or how to plan a smooth Emei Mountain sunrise trip, this guide covers everything—routes, prices, food, hotels, and transportation.
Day 1: Easy Walking Routes + Scenic Spots
Start your journey at the scenic area entrance and take the sightseeing bus to Wannian Parking Lot. From there, walk toward Qingyin Pavilion, one of the most picturesque valleys in Emei Shan. Continue to Yixiantian (One-Line Sky) and the Ecological Monkey Zone.
The monkey area is lively but aggressive—keep your belongings secured and avoid feeding them.
This walking route took us around 4 hours, with refreshing creek water and cool mountain air—perfect for families and travelers who love nature.

Day 2: Multiple Transport Options + Golden Summit
Begin at the main entrance (Baoguo Temple) and take the mountain bus to Leidongping.
The ride takes about 1 hour and passes through winding mountain roads, so take motion-sickness medicine if needed.
From Leidongping, walk about 20 minutes to Jieyindian. Here, choose one of two ways to reach the Golden Summit (Jinding):
Option 1: Cable Car
About 5 minutes, suitable for most travelers
Best for those who want to save energy for sightseeing at the summit
Option 2: Hiking
Around 2 hours, recommended for hiking lovers
We chose the hiking route and enjoyed the climb
We reached the summit around 9:00 AM and missed the sunrise.
If sunrise is important to you, stay overnight at Leidongping and start hiking around 5:00 AM. Sunrise around 6:00 AM is magical—cloud sea layers shift every second, creating breathtaking views.
At the Golden Summit, remember to offer incense and pray for blessings. Many pilgrims come here for worship, and some even perform full-body prostrations.
